Alton was born and raised on a Southland sheep and beef unit before, completing a BSc degree at Otago University.  Work experience includes 6 years working in Soil and Earth Sciences at Massey University and more recently with various roles in the concrete industry.
Alton says his heart has always been in the rural sector, particularly the Southland region. He chose to join Mainland Minerals Southern because of the efficiencies that fine particle fertiliser offers over alternatives, and the opportunity to work with farmers to improve their businesses by reducing inputs and maximising soil potential. Alton’s spare time is spent developing his own block in the Catlins.
